The Wedding Guide

At Cad & The Dandy, we understand the importance of getting the right look to reflect your personality, style and the theme of your wedding. Every aspect of the suit is totally customised and unique to you, from cloth choice, lining, lapels, buttons, pockets and more. With many options to choose from, we will help guide you through the process to ensure you get the perfect result.

Cad & The Dandy Savile Row

Why Choose Us?

Our House Cut emphasises a nipped in waist, full chest and softer shoulder, giving a modern, shaped garment. However we tailor this to you, emphasising what suits you best and flatters the wearer, not the brand.

With one of the largest cloth libraries on Savile Row, we pride ourselves on finding the perfect option for you.

Being one of the largest tailors in the UK, we can continue the process globally and virtually, timing the process to requirements.

Our Bespoke

We offer both Bespoke and handmade Ready to Wear across a wide ranging, seasonal collection.

Made to Measure differs as this is normally made by a machine, creating a flat garment, designed from a block pattern. With its limitations, we choose to omit this service.

Our Bespoke is entirely made by hand, hand padded and hand finished, cut to your body measures, postural characteristics and unique shape.

The Drink

The Drink

Our recipe is simple and ensures a crisp, balanced drink. You dont need to mess with the classics, just like with good tailoring.

  • 1 oz (30ml) Gin
  • 1 oz (30ml) Campari
  • 1 oz (30ml) Sweet red vermouth
The Pour

The Pour

Pour the mixture into a rocks glass (also known as a lowball or old-fashioned glass) over large ice cubes and stir to chill.

Garnish by twisting an orange peel over the glass to release its essential oils, then place the peel (or a full slice) into the drink.

Now Enjoy...

Now Enjoy...

Sit back and enjoy. The drink is best served as an aperitivo before dinner. The perfect start to an enjoyable evening.

Allow time to consider your options from your consultation and get the creative ideas flowing. Cheers from us.

The History of the Negroni

The Negroni is one of the most iconic cocktails in the world, known for its vivid red color, bitter complexity, and elegant simplicity. Its origins lie in early 20th-century Italy, a time when café culture and the tradition of the aperitivo were central to social life.

The most widely accepted origin story places the creation of the Negroni in Florence around 1919. The cocktail is named after Count Camillo Negroni, an Italian aristocrat with a fondness for strong drinks. According to legend, Count Negroni was a regular at Caffè Casoni (later Caffè Giacosa), where he often ordered an Americano—a popular cocktail made with Campari, sweet vermouth, and soda water. Seeking something stronger, he asked the bartender, Fosco Scarselli, to replace the soda with gin. The resulting drink was richer and more potent, and it soon became known as the Negroni.

The classic Negroni recipe calls for equal parts gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth. Each ingredient reflects a key element of Italian drinking culture: Campari, invented in Milan in the 1860s, contributes bitterness and color; sweet vermouth, developed in Turin in the late 18th century, adds herbal sweetness; and gin provides dryness and aromatic depth. Traditionally garnished with an orange peel, the Negroni is distinguished from lighter aperitifs and signals its bold character.

By the 1920s and 1930s, the Negroni had spread throughout Italy and beyond, becoming a staple of aperitivo culture. Its reputation continued to grow internationally after World War II as classic cocktails regained popularity. Over time, it inspired variations such as the Boulevardier, made with whiskey, and the Negroni Sbagliato, which substitutes prosecco for gin.

Today, the Negroni is celebrated worldwide as a timeless cocktail. Its enduring appeal lies in its perfect balance of bitter and sweet, its simple structure, and its strong connection to Italian history and style.
