Winter in Cold Springs, Upstate NY
For our latest Autumn collection we travelled to Cold Springs, a small town on the banks of the Hudson, framed by the Highlands and watched over by the ruins of Bannerman Castle across the water.
Upstate New York in autumn carries a particular stillness. Wood smoke on the air, low light catching on the river, a slower pace than the city. The surrounding hills turn through deep russets and burnt reds, plum-dark maples and stands of cream and gold, set against grey water and fading pine. It's a landscape that feels worn in rather than styled.
The collection takes its cue from this. Greatcoats in rich melton wool, brushed and dependable to the touch. Unlined, softly tailored jackets in earthy brown gun club check, alongside cashmere jackets in deep plum. Safari jackets in oatmeal, and cashmere tweed in tonal Russell check. Trousers follow in fawn and grey flannel, shirts in navy, dark brown and sky. Knitwear rounds things out in Donegal wool, mottled and flecked, muted but for flashes of red that echo the season.
